In a continued effort to support sports development across the country, the National Sports Council (NSC) has donated a large number of balls to districts nationwide.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, NSC’s Community and Sports for All director, Francis Remie, said the donation is aimed at enhancing accessibility of sports equipment at the communal level and is part of a larger mission to encourage physical activity and sports participation countrywide, in a national challenge against obesity.
He said having these equipment at hand, all the time, should unburden sports committees in districts to organise activities at will.
The ceremony was attended by district administrators countrywide, whose physical wellness was tested shortly afterwards to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, especially for those working at the communal level.
The DAs were subjected to various tests conducted by the Health Department on the day, before eventually participating in a small health and fitness performance conducted by the Sports for all unit.
