A former volleyball player from her native island of La Digue, Miss Kelpha Esther, knows what it takes to achieve in sports, coming from a place where you start out with nothing. She rose to prominence as a key member of the La Digue ladies’ volleyball team that defied expectations to achieve remarkable success from humble beginnings. Her journey and that of her colleagues, from a remote island to the forefront, is a testament to the talent, dedication, and unwavering spirit of the Diguois people, who are ever present and dominant in local sports, in spite of obvious obstacles.
Miss Esther now serves as the Administrative Officer for the National Sports Council’s La Digue office, drawing upon the invaluable lessons of teamwork and resilience, honed during her volleyball career, to excel in her administrative role.
