The Swimming Pool is located within the Roche Caiman Sports Complex as well, which brings together Seychelles’ key sporting venues, all within walking distance of each other, creating a unique central hub where the nation’s major athletic disciplines converge in one location. The Roche Caiman Swimming Pool is Seychelles’ principal aquatic facility and the home of competitive swimming in the country. Similarly, it was opened officially in 1993, to provide modern training and competition facilities for aquatic sports.
The facility features a standard 50-metre Olympic-size pool equipped with electronic timing systems, starting blocks, and spectator seating that can accommodate several hundred people. In addition to the main pool, the complex also houses a smaller training pool, changing facilities, and administrative offices to support the operations of swimming clubs and national federations.
The complex is also open to schools, community groups, and the wider public, serving as a space for physical education, swimming lessons, and recreational use. Under the tutelage of the National Sports Council, the facility promotes swimming as both a competitive sport and a life skill, making it one of the most important assets in Seychelles’ sporting infrastructure.
