Male pugilist and female swimmer Keddy Agnes and Felicity Passon are the Sportsman and Sportswoman of the year for the year 2023.
The pair received the accolades during a lavish Awards ceremony at the Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay on Friday evening, the first time the Sports Awards showpiece was orgnaised in four years.
Those in attendance included the president of the republic and the first lady, Wavel and Linda Ramkalawan, a number of cabinet ministers, dignitaries and various high ranking official.
Second and third place in the men’s category belonged to Judoka Natenaina Finnesse and swimmer Simon Bachmann respectively, while volleyball duo Angelique Adeline and Maya Biong were second and third behind Passon in the women’s race.
Windsurfer Jules Kandasamy emerged victorious in the youth boys category and swimmer Angelina Smythe dominated the girls class.
