Team Seychelles for the 13th African Games -Accra 2023 – was sent off on Monday, in a ceremony at the Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay, attended by minister Marie-Celine Zialor, PS Ralph Jean-Louis and NSC CEO Marc Arisol.
Seychelles will be represented in six disciplines in Accra, being Boxing, Volleyball, Athletics, Weightlifting, Judo and Swimming, but not all these representatives were present at the send-off, with the majority being overseas preparing.
Addressing those present CEO Arisol challenged the athletes to show Africa the country’s might, in spite of Seychelles being the smallest country on the continent.
Team Seychelles will have a delegation of around 60 delegates for the Games. A team of officials, which includes the Chef de Mission Lucas George is already in Accra preparing the team’s arrival.
They recently sent a sneak peek of the dormitory and dining area in the Games village, to give athletes an idea of what to expect.
