CJSOI Village to House Over 600

CJSOI participants will reside in the Games Village currently under construction at the Roche Caïman Sports Complex, as Seychelles prepares to host the regional youth event this August.

This was confirmed to the media on Thursday in response to inquiries about the space being used at the complex to build the facility. It was explained the decision was taken after much deliberations and consideration.

Furthermore officials explained that the Games Village is not just a logistical necessity, but a core part of the CJSOI (Commission de la Jeunesse et des Sports de l’Océan Indien) experience, noting: “The Village is where the true spirit of the Games comes to life, it’s designed to foster friendship, understanding, and camaraderie among young people from across the Indian Ocean region.”

Once completed, the container type erection will include dormitories to accommodate over 600 athletes in a comfortable and secure environment throughout the duration of the Games. Construction is reported to be progressing on schedule, with completion expected well ahead of the athletes’ arrival. Seychelles will host the CJSOI Games from August 1-10, and preparations are well underway to ensure a memorable and smooth edition of the Games.
