A high-level delegation, including the department of sports the Seychelles Boxing Federation and the High Level unit from NSC, has conducted a key progress review on two of the nation’s top boxers currently undergoing intensive training in Russia.
Joshua Cousin and Dasheil Fanchette have been in Russia since the start of the year as part of a bilateral sports exchange programme between the towns of Victoria and Rostov-on-Don.
The check-in on them took place through a consultative meeting held with officials of the Russian Embassy in the presence of their parents.
The meeting was aimed to assess both the athletic and academic welfare of the pugilists, based in Russia under a full-time development programme designed to sharpen their competitive edge on the international stage.
They are said to be adapting well to the rigorous training regimen and cultural environment, and should be ready for two upcoming competitions, here on homesoil in a couple of months and in the African region shortly after.
