Coaches expand on suitability to work with children

Coaches from Mahe, Praslin and La Digue have expanded on their expertise on suitability check, to discern thier own suitability to work with children.

A group of some 50 coaches from Mahe completed the exercise yesterday after groups from Praslin and La Digue were targeted previously.

The training was held by NSC together with Social Services, the driving force behind the initiative.

A Children Suitability Check is a process aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of children in various environments, especially in settings like schools, recreational facilities, and childcare services.

This check typically involves evaluating the qualifications, background, and suitability of adults who work with or have access to children. It’s primary goal is to prevent children from being exposed to harm, whether physical, emotional, or psychological, on this case, while performing sports.

These checks help reassure parents, guardians, and communities that children are in safe and in protective hands while undertaking various recreational activities.
