Trial run of modular flooring begins at Anse Boileau basketball court

A new modular flooring system has been installed on the basketball court at Anse Boileau as part of a trial initiative aimed at improving sports infrastructure across districts.

The material is designed for both indoor and outdoor use, offering better playing conditions for users whilst simultaneously lowering the risk of injuries. The same type of flooring is used provisionally at the Victoria Gymnasium, in support of 3×3 basketball activities, whenever there is a tournament.

The English River basketball court has been identified as the next location for installation of the flooring, with plans underway to adapt it for multipurpose use, to include other sports, notably volleyball.

Discussions are also ongoing to extend the modular flooring to handball courts, reflecting a broader effort to upgrade sports facilities across districts.
