Efforts got underway today to resolve an enduring flooding problem at the Mont Fleuri playing field, which has rendered part of the pitch unplayable for years on end due to accumulation of water.
The water arises from a nearby stream overrunning the drainage system at the top end corner of the field nearest to Mont Fleuri Secondary School, causing the growth of dense vegetation.
Ongoing work is aimed at broadening the drainage system in and around the field, and to lower the slope in the flooding area away from the field.
