Team Seychelles had its most rewarding day at the Games in Madagascar today, amassing a total of 28 medals altogether, including 6 gold, the highest collected over the four days of competition.
Weightlifting and swimming were amongst the medals as it has been the case over the first three days, with boxing and athletics joining the bandwagon today.
Weightlifting was the recipient of nine medals today, two gold and seven silver, and swimming added a further six to its tally, one gold, three silver and two bronze.
In boxing Team Seychelles was in the running for at least five gold medals, but ended the day with two gold, three silver and six bronze.
It was a first day of athletics today and two other medals were pocketed on the tracks. A gold in the 10km race and a bronze in 100m dash for Handi-Sport.
The other medal winner at the Island Games is the sport of judo which has won a silver and a bronze.
